Mykhaylo Mudryk, a winger for Chelsea, has spoken of his joy at scoring his first goal for the club.
Mudryk said that his success versus Brighton was the result of him rehearsing his shots in the gym.
In a preseason match played on Saturday in the United States, Chelsea defeated Brighton 4-3.
After Christopher Nkunku had tied the game, Mudryk scored the go-ahead goal for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
It was 4-1 after goals from Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson, but Brighton struck twice in the final 12 minutes to make it a contest.
Mudryk told the production team for the Premier League, “I enjoyed that one!” I didn’t have to put much thought into my shot because I had practiced it so many times on the practice field.
He said, “Just imagine that is our first game together!” in reference to his pairing with Jackson.
In January, Mudryk made the €100 million move to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk.
