According to the Aladja village in Delta State’s Udu Local Government Area, oil bunkering in nearby communities has made it impossible for its fishermen to access the Warri River for fishing.

Speaking on behalf of the agrarian community was Comrade Oro Ivwrigheghweta.

He emphasized that the actions of oil bunkerers had caused the river’s fish population to decline, which had a detrimental impact on fisherman.

He asserted, “This is because their actions have had a harmful influence on the ecosystem.

The absence of fish in the river as there once were is being lamented by the fisherman.

Ivwrigheghweta pleaded for the government to take action against criminality, particularly crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.

Additionally, he stated that security agencies should avoid accepting bribes from anybody engaging in illegal activity.
