Posted by Sensational Sarah Aderibigbe, better known by her stage name Ayra Starr, a Nigerian singer, has stated that she doesn’t appreciate being awarded the Best Female Artiste of the Year by the Headies Awards’ organizers.
The 16th Headies Awards co-host, actress Osas Ighodaro, made the announcement that the ceremony had ended halfway through the presentation, even though roughly 13 categories, including Best Female Artiste, were yet to be given out.
The winners of various categories were subsequently revealed by the organizers on their social media profiles.
I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even judged deserving of being acknowledged on stage, Ayra Starr stated in response on her X page on Monday. Which female artist is the best? Every single one of us puts in a lot of work! I witnessed Tiwa record four number-one songs in a one evening. Tems is a living, breathing musician. Such indifference was not what we deserved! I wasn’t brought up in Nigeria to accept less.
