Gianfranco Zola, a legend of Chelsea, has questioned the club’s choice to sell four players this year.
The players are crucial for Chelsea this season, according to Zola, who voiced his amazement at this. Other footballers looked up to them.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, and Mateo Kovacic are the four players.
While Kovacic joined Premier League champions Manchester City, Jorginho, Havertz, and Azpillicueta all joined Atletico Madrid from Chelsea.
“I’m astonished there were so many seasoned guys who left. My impression is that they want to put together a team in the next three to four years, but individuals like Kovacic, Havertz, Azpilicueta, and Jorginho went who had won a lot and had been there a long time. These were likely role models for everyone, Zola told The Times.
You must have those players. You rely on those players in trying times. The fact that so many people fled doesn’t improve the problem.
