He and Thomas Lyte collaborated on the trophy’s design.

“Following their work on the BRITs Awards, Slawn has been appointed to design the 2024 FA Cup Trophy,” @whatsonshuffle revealed via X.

Additionally, a video by Olaolu Slawn showing the construction of the FA Cup trophy was shared.

“Biggest thing I’ve done yet,” the designer, who was born in Lagos, posted on Monday via his Instagram feed to confirm the project. The FA Cup trophy, my solemn homage. Also, @ThomasLyte and Slawn. To @EmiratesFACup, I am thankful. With that, I pray.

“Excited to see your tribute revealed on Monday,” the Emirates FA Cup responded.

The majority of Slawn’s body of work consists of murals, caricatures, graffiti, large-scale pop art canvases, and spray paint.

He made history in 2023 as the youngest person to ever design the Britannia statuette for the prestigious annual BRIT awards.

According to his most recent plans, the FA Cup final between the two Manchester clubs would take place on May 25, 2024, at Wembley Stadium.
