Lionel Messi, the captain of Argentina, skipped Thursday’s practice session along with the rest of his teammates.
The 35-year-old was reportedly participating in an indoor rehabilitation exercise with the players who started their semifinal victory over Croatia on Tuesday.
The 13 players being tested in Doha did not include Messi.
He also chose not to watch the game from the sidelines with the other six starters, raising questions over whether he might have a thigh injury after gripping his left hamstring throughout Croatia’s encounter.
However, the Argentine tabloid Clarin reports that the 35-year-old has no injuries going into the last match against France, and his left hamstring is OK.
Since Wednesday was a rest day for the entire team, Messi was inside working out in the gym to recover with Papu Gomez and Lautaro Martinez.
On Friday, he is anticipated to be back performing ball work on the practice fields.
