Aleksandar Mitrovic of Fulham has been pushed by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent to sign with Chelsea rather than Manchester United.
Bent thinks Mitrovic is prepared to leave Fulham for a significant transfer, and Chelsea would be a better match for him than Man United because of players like full-backs Ben Chilwell and Reece James on the Blues.
Mitrovic has scored 11 goals in 15 Premier League appearances for Fulham so far this season, which is a phenomenal total.
Bent thinks it’s time for the Serbian, 28, to transfer to a larger club like Chelsea after his record-breaking 43 goals in 44 Championship games last season helped the Cottagers achieve promotion to the Premier League.
“I believe he is [prepared for a major move].” He contributes many goals to Serbia. He may hold the record for most goals scored by them. The only thing about Mitrovic is that if you play with him, you have to play a certain style, according to Bent on talkSPORT.
Because the box is where he performs best, you must serve him and get the ball there. He gets past the defender, holds the ball up and is incredibly strong in the air, but he is not the fastest.
“Mitrovic requires service,” he continued, “and I think that Manchester United’s style of play and their quick bursts might not be appropriate for him. Will they resume playing a specific method with Mitrovic in considering how Ten Hag currently plays? Most likely not, although he is a world-class player.
“He would thrive in their style,” a coach said, “when you look at their wing-backs, the likes of Reece James and Ben Chilwell and the way they hurl crosses in.”
