Posted by Christophe Galtier, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, has blamed Chelsea for the failed trade of winger Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech agreed to personal terms with PSG for a loan move for the remainder of the season, but the deal fell through on Tuesday night.
Both PSG and Chelsea were anticipated to reach an agreement, but the paperwork to complete the transfer of Morocco international was not submitted on time.
On deadline day, Ziyech was in France set to be announced as a PSG player, but he unwillingly returned to England and will finish the season with Chelsea.
Galtier discussed his club’s failed move for Ziyech following PSG’s 3-1 win over Montpellier on Wednesday night, claiming that the guilt does not lie with the French Ligue 1 champions.
“For various reasons, we were unable to sign the player we had sought,” the 56-year-old remarked (via RMC Sport). This labor is available to us. I have a good team; the young guys will have a voice in the second half of the season. Obviously, with such a packed schedule, injuries and exhaustion must be avoided.”
“I am delighted with the squad we had at the start of the season; we could have bolstered it following the departure of Pablo [Sarabia]. We couldn’t pull it off. Our club, in my opinion, has no culpability. That’s the way it is; that’s life; we look forward.”
