In an open letter to Governor Mbah, Enugu PDP chieftain Eya urges him to strike a “balanced” Political Seat

Hon. Chinedu Eya, a former candidate for the Enugu North Senatorial District, has urged Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State to distribute political seats fairly among all regions.

KURYALOADED acquired the politician’s advise in the form of a letter he had sent to the Governor.

In spite of Eya’s praise for the governor’s recent nominations of competent personnel to support him in moving the wheels of administration, he cautioned the governor to exercise caution in the allocation of authority in order to prevent resentments and disaffection among followers.

He said this to Governor Mbah: “While I like to commend you for your recent appointments of competent and intellectual mobile hands into your government, I admit that the zonal spread of the key positions could have been handled better as no zone should be seen as having more appointees against another zone, as this would bring about disaffection and distrust to your government.”

“We have witnessed verbal warfare emerge among many folks in our dear zones, contesting their perceived lopsidedness in your recent approval of appointees, in the days after your recent appointments of Chief Staff, SPAs, SSAs, and SAs.

Following the release of the list, I have seen firsthand how some people who feel they helped immensely to your rise during the past election have been insulted and called names.

“I’m writing to make an impassioned appeal to Your Excellency, Sir. As we get ready to welcome new appointees into your government, I recommend that you distribute these positions evenly across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) and zones of Enugu State. This will ensure that every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the state feels like they belong somewhere.

Eya stated that he wanted to represent the Enugu North Senatorial zone in the Senate because he is a firm believer in politics based on inclusion and fair representation.

According to him, this is why he has been looking for a new venue “through which I will speak, defend, and advance the course of people of my Senatorial District, but without results.”

Please accept my warmest respects and best wishes as we all look forward to a successful Enugu State under your leadership.
