The National Working Committee, which Kwankwaso led, failed to pay party agents who worked for the party in the 2023 presidential and governorship elections nationwide, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun investigating the theft of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) campaign funds for those elections.
According to Vanguard’s reliable sources, the anti-graft agency has summoned the party’s national secretary, Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, to provide evidence supporting the fraud accusations made against Senator Kwankwaso and his private secretary, Mrs. Folashade Aliu. Aliu is considered the “conduit pipe” in the alleged theft of party funds by Kwankwaso from his secret campaign and donation accounts.

According to the sources, Prof. Rufai Alkali, Abba Kawu, and Dipo Olayokun are among the signatories to a bank account of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which Oginni allegedly indicted in his appeal.
Consequently, Dipo Olayokun’s unexpected fortune and the means by which he obtained properties in desirable districts of Abuja during the brief two years that he was a signatory to the NNPP account may necessitate an investigation by the anti-graft agency.
During a phone interview with Vanguard in Abeokuta, party national secretary Comrade Oginni confirmed the news, saying that last week on Wednesday, he was a guest at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja to explain and make statements regarding the party’s petition that he signed, accusing Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his associates of a N2.5 billion fraud.
The EFCC really extended an invitation to me. The EFCC officers were very professional, and I appreciated their invitation. Without fear of retaliation, I responded to inquiries concerning the NNPP petition I had previously signed.
They need assurance that the accusations are genuine and made from a place of kindness. The new crop of EFCC officers is prepared to root out corruption in Nigeria’s highest echelons, and we can say with confidence that the country is in good hands, according to Oginni.
Investigations into the petition against Senator Kwankwaso have begun, and the anti-graft agency is about to invite him to clear his name. This is in light of the confirmed invitation from the National Secretary of the NNPP.
