Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has explained why he accepted the transfer of Jorginho from Chelsea.

Jorginho’s expertise, according to the Spaniard, will be a huge benefit in their bid for the Premier League crown.

The Gunners sealed a £12 million deal with Chelsea to sign the Italy international.

Arteta has admired the 31-year-old from his days as an assistant coach at Manchester City.

“Jorginho is a midfielder with intelligence, strong leadership qualities, and a wealth of Premier League and international experience.

“Jorginho has won throughout his career, but he still has the hunger and huge determination to contribute here.

“We are delighted to welcome Jorginho and his family to the club,” Arteta told Arsenal’s official website.
