Mason Greenwood has reportedly signed a loan deal with Getafe, but Manchester United has stated that they would “continue to offer its support” to the forward.
Since his arrest in January 2022, the 21-year-old has not participated in any professional football games.
However, seven months ago, the attempted rape, using coercive or controlling behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm charges against Greenwood were dismissed.
After the criminal issue was resolved, United finished an internal inquiry in August and declared he would no longer represent the Red Devils.
On the final day of the transfer window, it was announced that Greenwood had been signed on a season-long loan by Getafe.
United claims that it will assist Greenwood in “rebuilding his career” outside of Old Trafford.
Mason Greenwood has agreed to a season-long loan with La Liga team Getafe, pending international clearance, according to a statement issued by United following the transfer. With the change, Greenwood may start to resurrect his career outside of Manchester United.
