Katia Aveiro, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, has supported her brother’s decision to reject European clubs in order to sign a lucrative contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nasr.
Ronaldo signed a massive contract with Al Nassr that will keep him at the club until 2025. After his contract at Manchester United was terminated in November, Ronaldo was especially eager to join a UEFA Champions League club.
On Friday night, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner signed a contract with Al-Nassr that will pay him $175 million year.
After Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr, Aveiro responded by encouraging him to “create history once more” in a post on her Instagram story.
“Pride of my life… to make history once more,” Aveiro captioned a photo of her brother holding up Al-yellow Nassr’s and blue shirt.
Al-Nassr is presently in second place in the Saudi Arabian league after 10 games, two points behind league leaders Al-Shabab. Ronaldo will be hoping to help Al-Nassr win the championship this season.
