Posted by Rechargeable lamps bearing the image of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi were given out to relatives of President Olusegun Obasanjo in Ogun State prior to the 2023 presidential election.
The solar lamps were distributed at Obasanjo’s celebration of 2022 Ibogun Olaogun Day, perhaps as confirmation of his support for Obi’s candidacy.
Obasanjo may have purchased and customized the lamps personally, but kuryaloaded was unable to immediately establish whether the Obi campaign council provided them.
Prior to the lamps being distributed to attendees at the annual ceremony, the former president was visible holding a sample of them.
The former president, who claims he is no longer involved in party politics, has insisted that the South must be represented in the next Nigerian presidential election.
Since then, he has expressed interest in South Easterner Obi.
