Atiku responds after his name is chanted during Wike’s speech in Oyo

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for president, praised his Oyo State supporters on Friday.

On Thursday in Ibadan, several of them sang his name in unison when Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike addressed the audience.

To support Governor Seyi Makinde’s reelection, Wike and the other G5 governors gathered in front of Mapo Hall.

As the Rivers state governor urged the populace to support Makinde and other PDP candidates in the state, Atiku’s supporters yelled “Atiku, Atiku, Atiku.”

The former vice president responded by saying he heard them “loud and clear.”

“I sincerely appreciate the support for myself and our fantastic party, @OfficialPDPNig. You demonstrated that my years of devotion to the Pace-Setter State were not in vain.

The politician wrote, “My commitment to you is this: we shall work closely together in the effort to Recover Nigeria.”

Governors of Benue, Enugu, Abia, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as former governors of Ekiti and Ondo, Ayodele Fayose and Olusegun Mimiko, were also present at the ceremony.

After Atiku defeated Wike in the PDP presidential primaries in Abuja in May of last year, the G5 governors split with him.

Only Ortom has publicly endorsed his favored 2023 presidential candidate, Labour Party member Peter Obi (LP).
