With only 28 days till the general elections in 2023, President Muhammadu Buhari has advised Nigerians to reject any candidate who would return the country to the era of excessive corruption.

Corruption, according to Buhari, is wicked and should be condemned by all Nigerians ahead of the 2019 elections.

He addressed at a symposium in Abuja convened by the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, PACAC, on fighting corruption in Nigeria.

The President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, stated that he would leave a legacy of zero tolerance for corruption to Nigerians.

“In a matter of weeks, Nigerians will need to go to the polls again to elect their leaders in the general elections.

“I implore Nigerians to reject politicians who will bring our country back to a time when corruption was the norm,” he stated.

Buhari has been vocal about his opposition to corruption since taking office.

The president has promised to combat corruption in Nigeria on multiple occasions.

Despite his resolve, he has been chastised for his inability to combat corruption effectively.
