Buhari approves employment in agencies and parastatals

The appointment of chief executives and the extension of the contracts of some parastatal and agency personnel have been authorized by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This is stated in a statement by Mr. Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), which was released in his office by Mr. Willie Bassey, Director of Information.

According to the statement, Buhari officially approved Dauda Biu’s appointment as the Federal Road Safety Commission’s (FRSC) Corp Marshal/Chief Executive Officer, effective December 23 for a four-year first tenure.

Additionally, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye was appointed again to serve a last term of five years as Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), beginning in December 2022.

With effect from November 21, Mr. Lanre Gbajabiamila was also reappointed for a final term of four years as Director-General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).

In the meantime, four of the country’s River Basin Development Authorities renewed the appointments of five executive directors.

With effect from November 23, Bello Gwarzo was reappointed for a final term of three years as Executive Director (Planning) of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority.

Additionally, the positions of Olatunji Babalola and Adewale Adeoye, the executive directors for engineering and planning, respectively, have been extended effective November 23 for a final term of three years in office.

With effect from November 23, 2022, Bashir Zango’s tenure as the Sokoto Rima Basin Development Authority’s Executive Director (Planning) is extended for a final term of three years.

The Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority recently appointed Mrs. Mary Nwabunor as Executive Director (Agricultural Services) with effect from December 19 for a three-year initial term.

All of the appointees received congratulations from the president, who also urged them to use their extensive experience to the best of their abilities.
