In order to provide a variety of support services for the 2023 general elections, security agencies have been encouraged by President Muhammadu Buhari to maintain a high level of professionalism.
This was said by Buhari on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) newly purchased compound in Idu-Karmo, Abuja.
In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, the president asked the agencies to manage the logistics around the distribution and oversight of classified information.
Buhari reiterated his earlier directive to security agencies to maintain their nonpartisanship and warned them to avoid acting in a way that could “compromise the democratic process” and bring shame to their organizations and the nation.
In his remarks at the recently purchased DIA Estate, Buhari maintained that the appropriate quarters would improve productivity and coordination of activities among agency employees given the growing number of individuals taking on new challenges and duties.
The Defence Intelligence Agency workers, their families, and the host community would benefit greatly from these new facilities, Buhari declared.
