On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his condolences to the academic community and the media over the demise of renowned political science professor Ayo Olukotun, whose works bear witness to his allegiance, patriotism, and generosity.

Buhari said that the scholar’s contributions to nation-building, student instruction, and leadership development should be maintained for future generations.

Olukotun’s retirement, according to the President, will be “greatly missed,” especially since general elections are quickly coming in the nation, where his opinions have long been influential.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, revealed this in a statement.

Buhari also expressed his condolences to the columnist, administrator, and researcher’s family, friends, and coworkers. The deceased lectured at the Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, and Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife as a visiting professor of international relations.

But he prayed that the All-Powerful God would accept the soul of the dead and give solace to his family.
