The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been accused of causing the current insecurity problem in the Lokpanta area of Abia State by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
When Kalu was the governor of Abia State, IPOB claimed that his desire to become president led him to hand up Lokpanta to Fulani jihadists.
According to IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful, Kalu gave the territory to Fulani militants under the pretense of the RUGA scheme.
However, Powerful’s statement said that IPOB will reclaim Lokpanta from those to whom Kalu had recently ceded the territory.
Powerful states: “We, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) global family and movement, ably led by the unflinching liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, wish to inform Ndigbo that Orji Uzor Kalu instigated the current insecurity problem along Lokpanta during his period in office in Abia State.
“Kalu gave Lokpanta to Fulani militants posing as herdsmen for RUGA in his desperate attempt to become president of Nigeria. In the end, he was duped by Fulanis, who then seized control of the region and denied him the presidential ticket. They gave him a prison sentence as compensation rather than a presidential ticket. To continue advancing the Fulanization agenda in Abia State, they released him from prison.
“Orji Uzor Kalu is joking about with the public today by telling them various stories about Lokpanta. When Orji Uzor Kalu said that he gave Lokpanta to Fulanis in order to generate income, he made himself look foolish. He could demonstrate to the Abians how much money Lokpanta has brought in for Abia State.
“This credulous individual overlooked the fact that Fulanis do not live among other ethnic groups. Their DNA is predisposed to conquest, rule, and servitude.
“Today, Lokpanta is a security risk not only to Abians but to anyone plying that route where many have fallen victim to Fulani kidnapping and killing.”
Powerful said the former governor has no right to cede Lokpanta to Fulani terrorists.
“Lokpanta is Abia State land and Orji Uzor Kalu has no right to mortgage the Abians’ safety for his personal political interest. Therefore, IPOB has the responsibility to recover the land from where the Fulani terrorists are launching attacks on our people.
“Kalu can rant as much as he wants but we must remain resilient to push the terrorists out of Lokpanta because the rate of killing and kidnapping happening along that area is so alarming to the point our people are no longer travelling on that road.
“Kalu should stop deceiving the public and tell them the reason he gifted an Abia State land to Fulanis for RUGA without their consent,” he added.
