During the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Gombe State, 720 members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) would be on duty to ensure security.
In a statement made available by the command’s public relations officer, Saad Buhari, Waziri Goni, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, said that the deployment of the personnel was a part of measures to reduce the insecurity that typically accompanies the festive season in the state.
The Command has put in place a strong security arrangement and crime prevention techniques, as instructed by the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to ensure a celebration free of crime in the state, with over 720 troops to provide protection, according to the statement.
The commandant urged the populace to practice security awareness and offer the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other agencies with pertinent information.
