Commercial busses crash in Oyo, killing seven and injuring fifteen

On the Moniya-Iseyin road, a collision between two commercial buses resulted in the deaths of seven passengers and the serious injuries of fifteen more.

The catastrophe occurred when torrential downpours swept over majority of Oyo State for hours.
Among the casualties were a woman and a little kid.

The two buses, with the license plates SEY 254 ZY and LGB 343 XA, were in a terrible state of disrepair, and there were bloodstained corpses hanging from the ceiling.

The Federal Road Safety Corps reported that “22 people were involved in the unfortunate accident” while confirming the disaster. Three men, eleven women, and one female child were among the fifteen injured, and seven were killed.

The FADOKS HOSPITAL in Iseyin is conveniently located, so many injured patients were transferred there.
The bodies were carried to the morgue by some of the victims’ relatives, while others remained there.

Reportedly, the victims’ unknown sums of money were turned over to the authorities when they were publicly counted.

Overspeeding and exhaustion were allegedly the factors that led to the collision.
