The indigenous socio-group known as Egbe Akomolede Yoruba has been tasked by Mrs. Abosede Adaran, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Art, and Tourism, to include all interested parties in revitalizing the Yoruba language.
When Adaran hosted the Egbe Akomolede Yoruba leadership at her office in Ado Ekiti, she gave them this advise.
The indigenous Yoruba group was tasked with involving all stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, Science and
Technology, Parents/Teachers Association, Christian Association of Nigeria, and All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) are few examples.
The group was urged by the permanent secretary to start a mobile education campaign on the worth of the Yoruba language and culture in order to preserve the language and save it from extinction.
Adaran also reaffirmed the Biodun Oyebanji Administration’s dedication to promoting travel, culture, and the arts globally.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Akogun Olumuyiwa Akinrelere, chairman of Egbe Akomolede Yoruba (Ekiti State chapter), pleaded for the ministry’s full support and pledged to constantly accompany the ministry in all its endeavors.
Additionally, he emphasized that the group would be anticipating the performance of the ministry’s standing troupe at the event to celebrate the day. He also reminded the permanent secretary of the approaching International Language Day.
