Posted by The 20 finalists for the position of Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, were put through the accreditation procedure by the federal government on Monday.
The twenty candidates, according to a government circular, were chosen from ministries, departments, agencies, and MDAs.
The government revealed in the circular that the shortlist came after the anti-corruption agencies’ findings on vetting potential applicants who applied to take part in the selection process for a substantive AGF.
The shortlisted applicants must appear for the accreditation process at Olusegun Obasanjo Hall, Office of the Head of the Federal Civil Service, Federal Secretariat, Phase II, Abuja, from January 9 through January 11, 2023, between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm daily.
Mohammed Aminu Yara’abba of the Federal Fire Service, Mahmud Adam Kambari of the North East Development Comm., Danladi Zakowi Comfort of the Interior, Mohammed Magaji. M. Doho of the Interior, Madein Oluwatoyin Sakirat of the OHCSF, and Waziri Amos Samuel are among those who have been shortlisted (Agric and Rural Development).
Others are Ibrahim Saadiyya Jibo (National Boundary Commission), Adaramoye Joseph Oluwole (Humanitarian Affairs), Isa Abubakar (Science, Technology, and Innovation), Ogunsemowo Oladipupo Olakunle (Environment), and Egbokale Kadiri Charity (Nig. Football Federation).
Remember that Ahmed Idris, the Accountant General who had been placed on administrative leave, was detained after declining requests from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to provide information over an alleged N109 billion scam.
Two days later, Idris was placed on an indefinite leave of absence “without pay” by Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning Zainab Ahmed, and Chukwunyere Anamekwe, who had been chosen to take his position temporarily, was fired.
