Recall that on November 1st, news of the death of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who drowned in a swimming pool at his father’s home in Banana Island, Lagos State, sent the internet into a frenzy.
According to reports, Chioma’s relatives prevented the Adeleke family from burying Ifeanyi because they claimed that since Chioma and Davido were not officially married, Ifeanyi was their son. a custom that is followed in some areas of Igbo Land.
As reported by Daily Sun Before the deceased was laid to rest on November 5, 2022, Chioma’s bride price was paid on Friday, November 4, 2022, in a low-key and private traditional marriage ceremony in Lagos.
The Adelekes, a member of Davido’s family, were welcomed by Chioma’s kinsmen from Ezeala Odu, Owerre Nkwoji, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State at Chioma’s family home in Lekki, Lagos, where the traditional wedding took place on November 4, 2022.
On January 2, 2023, the last marriage rites were supposed to be performed in Chioma’s hometown in Imo State.
