Remand to Agodi Correctional Centre has been issued by an Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan against Alhaji Lamidi Mukaila, alias Auxiliary, who was once the Chairman of the Park Management System.

The Oyo State Police Command brought charges against the PMS chief, who was apprehended two weeks ago, to court.

He was earlier brought before the State Police Command in Eleyele on charges related to the arsenal discovered in his Ibadan hotel room in Olodo.

Men from the DSS apprehended Auxiliary at his home in the Olodo area of Ibadan and turned him over to the Oyo State Police Command, as you may recall.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebola Hamzat, made the claim that the suspect was found in possession of multiple hazardous weapons at one of his hotels when parading him at the Command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan, on Thursday.

One AK-47 riffle, four magazines, eighty-four rounds of live ammunition, nineteen pump action riffles, a barrel gun made in England, one cut-to-size gun, and one barrel pistol were among the items found at the residence of CP Hamzat at the Diamond Hotel in the Egbeda Local Government Area, according to CP Hamzat.

Plus, a cash amount of N3,450,000, seventy-three cell phones, a Samsung laptop, charms, a Mazda bus, a Toyota Sienna, and twenty-five cutlasses and seven Jack knives.

According to the statement, “a concerted effort with our sister services led to the recent arrest of the sacked PMS chieftain after a discreet intelligence-led search commenced with the help of technology, collaborative efforts with Sister Services and Community Policing, and many locations were identified, traced, and combed for months.”

“Going ahead, the accused would face legal consequences for the crimes they committed.”

“The command would like to express its gratitude to the public for providing credible information about crime. However, it is our firm belief that any criminal or group plotting to return the state to the “Wild West” era will be met with decisive action. We must assure the public of this.”

Auxiliary served as NURTW secretary for a long time before his supervisor, the late Alhaji Lateef Eleweomo, was no longer popular with the late Adebayo Alao-Akala, the previous governor. Auxiliary succeeded Eleweomo as union head following his dismissal and remained in that position till his arraignment in a high court in Oyo State.
