Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed sympathy to the Nigerian Air Force’s leadership on the passing of LCPL Goselle Nanpon, who was slain by a truck driver at a security checkpoint in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a statement released in Ilorin on Wednesday, his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, conveyed condolences to the Air Force’s leadership.

According to the statement, Governor Abdulrazaq also sent LCPL Yahaya Ayuba, who suffered a spinal cord injury in the accident, a get-well message.

He praised the Air Force for its officers’ maturity and skill in handling the sad occurrence and termed it as tragic and unpleasant.

“The top brass of the Nigerian Air Force and the devastated families have my sincere condolences.

It was a tragic accident and one too many workplace hazards, in my opinion. That incident serves as more evidence that individuals must honor security personnel appropriately for the enormous sacrifices they make to maintain the safety of our nation.

The governor issued a statement saying, “We greatly thank them and lament the enormous loss of 1 officer and the catastrophic damage to the other.”

“As a gesture of appreciation for the officers’ service and sacrifices, a state government delegation is being sent to meet with the families of the officers. We ask the Almighty God to hasten the injured officer’s rehabilitation, offer peace to LCPL Goselle Nanpon’s family, and rest his soul, the statement continued.
