On Monday in Osogbo, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State introduced a new transport management system that aims to secure the parking lots, produce thousands of new jobs, and increase the state’s own revenue.

Adeleke made the announcement through Olawale Rasheed, his spokesperson, who said it was in fulfillment of his prior pledge to sterilize the current park system.

Adeleke had additionally pledged to guarantee passengers a fresh start in terms of secure and safe transit throughout the state.

Additionally, Governor Adeleke had reemphasized the necessity for a revamp of the public transportation system, noting that the newly approved structure includes a supervisory Disciplinary Committee to oversee all operations of the two sectors of the system, vehicles and cycles.

He also said that the state will create thousands of temporary employment through the implementation of a single ticketing system.

A representative of the Commissioner of Works and Transport (Office of Transportation), a representative of the Commissioner of Finance, a consultant, a representative of OIRS, and Alhaji Fakorede Rauf are among the 11 members of the Transport Disciplinary Committee.

Barr. Jola Akintola, Chief Olusola Adedokun, Rev. Olaleye Edward Onipede, Mr. Bamidele Isiaka, Mr. Oyeyemi Dauda Olamilekan, and Mr. Animashaun Adeshina Taofeek are additional members of the committee.

The governor also announced that Wakeel Nurudeen Oluronbi, who will lead the vehicle sector of the transportation system, and Oyeniyi Sikiru Ayobami, who will lead the cycles sector, will be sworn in by the Disciplinary Committee.

It is a one-ticketing system strategy throughout the state, and it will generate thousands of temporary jobs, claims the statement. The new policy will increase our ability to generate revenue and advance our economy.

Adeleke declared that once the system is in place, commuter deaths, property damage, and insecurity brought on by rival union organizations attacking one another will all be eliminated.

The statement read, “Going forward, nobody should be caught fighting or instigating any form of commotion in our parks or highways.”

The consultant hired to oversee the overall implementation of the transportation sector reform is Elchanan Projects and Concepts Limited.
