The Kogi administration has blamed “enemy” who chose to strike during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit for the explosion that occurred in Okene on Thursday.
Jerry Omodara, the security adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello, talked with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja.
The explosion happened near the former palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland at around 9.00 a.m. 4 persons passed away.
Omodara acknowledged that the state administration had information about the occurrence.
The retired Commodore claimed that there were enough security people on duty to thwart the “efforts.”
By setting off that explosion, “the enemies of progress tried to divert President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kogi.”
Omodara argued that “misguided politicians and those who don’t want anything positive for their state” were behind the bomb.
The advisor further charged “disgruntled politicians” with taking pleasure in the situation.
He cautioned that no one is safe from attack and advised everyone to take security seriously.
A bomb was placed in a car before it exploded, according to sources who spoke to a kuryaloaded correspondent.
