The co-owner of Chelsea, Todd Boehly, has come under fire from Liverpool veteran Graeme Souness, who claims that the west London club is in for a challenging time under his leadership.
Under Boehly’s management, Souness added, Chelsea would not finish in the top four of the Premier League this year since Boehly is an amateur at the game.
With 24 points, Chelsea is presently ranked ninth in the Premier League.
On New Year’s Day, they play at City Ground against Nottingham Forest.
For The Mail, Souness evaluated the top-four race and stated: “Finally, Chelsea. What is happening there?
“They’re not going to the top four. I became concerned when Todd Boehly entered the picture and began making football-related judgments.
Thomas Tuchel, a serial champion and member of the executive team Bruce Buck, Petr Cech, and Marina Granovskaia, was replaced as manager by an American who has no knowledge of football or even soccer.
“Everything I see and hear suggests to me that Chelsea is going to have a tough time right now.”
