Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has commented on President Bola Tinubu’s most recent success.
On Monday, the presidency stated that Tinubu and President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates had reached a historic accord in Abu Dhabi, ending the visa restrictions on Nigerian citizens.
Fayose thought it was a wonderful turn of events.
His X post, titled “Resolution of the diplomatic row between Nigeria and the UAE is no doubt heart-warming,” echoes this sentiment.
The suspension of flights to Nigeria by Emirates since October 2022 and the implementation of a visa ban on Nigerians by the UAE have caused diplomatic tensions, which Fayose pointed out has left a bad taste in the mouths of many Nigerians whose businesses are related to the UAE.
So, he stated, “President Tinubu has come to renew the hopes of Nigerians” because “resolving such a diplomatic deadlock in just one visit to the UAE shows that he has come to renew the hopes of Nigerians.”
