Posted by Barcelona manager Xavi has stated that teenage midfielder Pedri is on par with club great Andres Iniesta.
Xavi made the remarks following Pedri’s performance in Barcelona’s 2-1 La Liga victory over Real Betis on Wednesday night.
Pedri was instrumental in Barcelona’s eight-point victory over rival Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, extending his excellent run after scoring the game-winning goal against Girona last time out.
“He’s a player on another level; I’ve seen very few like him,” Xavi said following the match.
“He’s talented, he is at the level of Iniesta, but Andres has continuity to the point that he is still playing.
“If we compare Pedri to Iniesta right now, Iniesta obviously wins because he played for so long. He is, in my opinion, the finest talent that Spanish football has ever produced. But Pedri is exceptional. He have a similar talent.”
