According to Chief Mike Ejims Enwukwe, a former commissioner for budget and economic planning in Rivers State, the current administration under Governor Siminalayi Fubara should continue to prioritize human capital development.

The nation’s continued poverty, according to Chief Ejims Enwukwe, who was also the Sole Administrator of Risonpalm Limited, is directly attributable to the leadership’s open displays of insincerity and dishonesty.

He made the observation that the nation’s economic growth has been hindered because leaders still lack honesty and sincerity.

At Rumuodani community, Elelenwo clan, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, Ejims Enwukwe paid tribute to his mother, Deaconess Roseline Enwukwe, who passed away in 2016. The funeral ceremony took place in Port Harcourt.

To go on as a nation, leaders must maintain the principles espoused by their mothers—peaceful and honest—and reject the politics of betrayal, according to Enwukwe, who praised his mother for these traits.

As long as her mother’s legacy were alive and well, the former head of the State Ministry of Budget vowed.

The “snake swallowing money” he described was taking place in government agencies, political parties, and ministries, he claimed. Growing a nest egg? Some people are walking away with billions of naira, while other others are living in abject poverty, right?

“We need answers to these questions! It is imperative that our leaders uphold the values of honesty and perseverance.

Continuing on the subject of the sermon, Chief Ejims Enwukwe stated that the state has had some light, but that it urgently needs more light. He went on to say that Governor Fubara embodies that greater light.
