As the need for technology increases in depth, more often than less, most of our kids and teenagers have become so tech addicted, most especially when talking of mobile devices.

Stats confirms that the mobile device is the second most hand held device in the world, considering the fact that the need for a cell phone is increasing by the numbers every day.

And it is no news that most high school students are fond of this very technology.

1. ENGAGE THEM INTO SOME ACTIVITIES:

One of the sure ways to prevent kids and teenagers from becoming addicted and too tech savvy is by engaging them into some activities that can be helpful.

By so doing, the time they spend habitually on the internet and with their smartphones will be reduced drastically.

They will as well get to learn some useful things as they grow up to become adults.

Below are some of the activities you can easily engage your kids or teenagers to as a parent, teacher or possibly as a guardian.

  • – Engage them in worthwhile competitions like spelling bees, Q and A sections, sport activities, etc.
  • – if possible encourage them to have a planner list/ a- to-do list of things to engage themselves in daily. So as to reduce the amount of time spent in unnecessary things. It can as well prevent them from been idle and can enhance their productivity.
  • – Engage them into learning a thriving skill around the secular and tech area. This could be very beneficial to the child’s development and can be an avenue in broadening their knowledge

2. TEACH THEM TIME MANAGEMENT: “When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is surely inevitable”.

Time is costlier than any resource in the world, and once lost, it can’t be replaced.

3. TEACH THEM HOW TO ORGANIZE THEIR PHONES:

Organizing a cell phone is a digital method of ensuring that some apps are not easily accessible, there by limiting the daily use of such apps.

4 ENCOURAGE THEM TO STAY FOCUSED AND STUDy THEIR BOOKS:

As a parent or guardian or teacher engaging your kids or students in carrying out class works, studying, and performing assignments and projects will be good in preventing them from wasting lots of time on the internet.
