Galician Raul Caneda, a former Al Nassr manager, has claimed that he would not be shocked if Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain received a more lucrative offer than Cristiano Ronaldo to transfer to Saudi Arabia in the near future.
Caneda added that Al-acquisition Nassr’s of Ronaldo is just the beginning.
The 53-year-old Spaniard led Al-Ittihad (2012–13) and Al Nassr, two of Saudi Arabia’s top teams (2014 and 2016).
Recall that Al-Nassr recently made an incredible €200 million offer for Ronaldo.
Caneda added through Diario AS, among other things, “I wouldn’t be shocked if they had offered more money to Lionel Messi, or if they started to invest a lot of money in other of the most significant footballers in the European leagues.” Caneda was speaking about Saudi Arabia’s goals in football.
“The Cristiano thing can be a caution,” he continued, “because Al-competitors Nassr’s will also want a piece of the action from him. It is clear that the State of Arabia intends to aim high and will not be satisfied with Ronaldo. They recently acquired Newcastle and intend to drastically improve their league, making it one of the top ten in the globe.
