It’s been so horrible that reform is urgently needed. Ex-Gov. of Adamawa, Nyako

Murtala Nyako, a former governor of Adamawa State, claims that Nigeria is in such peril that improvement is now necessary.

Nobody needs to emphasize how dire things are; an improvement in the nation’s situation is definitely needed right now, according to Nyako.

Nyako made his statement on Saturday in Yola, the state capital. Nyako served as governor from 2007 to 2014, first under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and then the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Nyako told reporters shortly after hosting Senator Aishatu Ahmed Binani, the APC candidate for governor in the state, at his home that Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole must leave their current state of backwardness behind.

“We need to relieve our people of the level of poverty they are in,” he said. “We need a greater Adamawa, we need a greater Nigeria.”

The wise man avoided assigning blame but insisted that Nigeria needs goodwilled individuals to revive it.

“We require individuals who can inspire us to advance. All of us need to work together, he declared.

The visit to Nyako and the former governor’s ostensibly cordial reception for her were interpreted as a massive endorsement for Binani, who will compete against incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on March 11.

The legacy of Nyako is also anticipated to benefit Senator Abdulaziz Nyako, who is running for the Adamawa Central Zone seat in the APC.
