Iwobi’s injury status is updated by Lampard following Everton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United

After his team’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup third-round on Friday, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard gave the most recent injury update on Alex Iwobi.

At Old Trafford, goals from Antony, Conor Coady (an own goal), and Marcus Rashford led to Man United’s victory over Lampard’s men.

Iwobi, though, seemed hurt during the game and left on a stretcher early in the second half.

However, Lampard has since clarified that the Nigerian international sustained an ankle ligament injury, albeit he adds that he is unsure of the severity of the damage.

After the game, Lampard stated, “It’s an ankle ligament issue.”

“I don’t know the magnitude of it, but we’re hoping it’s a little one. On crutches, he departed.
