Kaduna Electric confirms six fatalities in Zaria following power outage

Six fatalities from a power surge last week have been verified by Kaduna Electric management on Tuesday.

According to kuryaloaded, a high electric voltage caused the burning of a city resident’s home and the deaths of 10 people.

In contrast to other accounts, six individuals perished as a result of the incident, the company’s head of corporate communication, Malam Abdulazeez Abdullahi, stated in a statement on Tuesday.

He revealed the names of the victims as; Mrs. Aliya Jibril, Ibrahim Ja’afaru, Murtala Ibrahim, Malam Auwal, Solomon Yusuf and ASP Kokuma Lumba, adding that, all the deceased persons lived on Kagoro Close, Gwargwaje, except ASP Lumba who resided in the Police Barracks
The corporation reportedly made contact with the relatives of the six victims and took steps to prevent a repeat, according to the statement.

He continued by saying that the business is in contact with traditional institutions and security organizations to determine the following actions.

According to investigations, six people perished in the tragic electrical event that happened in Zaria last week, according to the statement.

The statement expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased and stated steps had been taken to prevent a recurrence of high tension.

In order to further their inquiries, “the company’s personnel visited the Gwargwaje community and met with families of the impacted victims on three occasions since the tragedy to mourn with them and obtain pertinent information on the incident,” the official added.

According to the statement, no new fatalities have been reported since its last visit to the community on Saturday. It also noted that it had gathered comprehensive information on all those who had been hurt or lost their belongings, and that it had been in contact with the appropriate security agencies and the traditional institution in Zaria to discuss the next course of action.
