Police in Kwara State were reminded by the new commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, that the prohibition on commercial okada and tricycle operators between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. is still in effect statewide.

The police commissioner reminded the unions of the law recently adopted by the state government to streamline their operations after a meeting with the associations of both groups at the police headquarters in Ilorin.

She also reaffirmed her dedication to strict law enforcement, urging union leaders to inform their members that the command is prepared to begin pursuing anyone who is caught breaking the law.

Moreover, Ebunoluwarotimi warned criminal elements in the state to repent their evil ways in a statement released by the command’s spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, in Ilorin on Saturday evening.

Law-abiding residents, she urged, should go about their day-to-day lives unfazed by threats from criminals or the police.

It won’t be business as usual for lawbreakers in Kwara State, according to the police commissioner, who promised that no effort would be spared to make crime history there.
