Luis Suarez, a striker for Uruguay, is thrilled to have signed for Brazilian Serie A team Gremio on a free transfer.
On Saturday, Suarez agreed to a contract with Gremio that will keep him with the team through the end of 2024.
In July of last year, the 35-year-old went back to his first club, Nacional, but only stayed for three months.
During his second tenure with Nacional, the former Barcelona and Liverpool forward scored eight goals in 16 games, helping the team win the Uruguayan championship.
Suarez responded to joining Gremio by tweeting on his Twitter account that he is getting ready for the upcoming challenge.
“Getting ready for this fantastic challenge at Gremio, I’m eager to be there and enjoy it,” the former Atletico Madrid player tweeted.
On January 17, Suarez is anticipated to make his Gremio debut against Sao Luiz.
