Following his victory in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, forward for Paris Saint-Germain Lionel Messi returned to Le Parc des Princes on Wednesday and made three pledges to the team.
After a lengthy absence, Messi returned to PSG on Wednesday to a guard of honour and a warm greeting from his teammates and club officials in honor of Argentina’s World Cup victory.
Argentina’s national team won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar under the 35-year-leadership old’s in December.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or champion also took home the World Cup Golden Ball for performing at the highest level.
However, Messi committed to get in shape, practice hard, and get back into the club’s routine after being welcomed so warmly by his teammates and staff.
Messi was cited by PSG’s official website as stating, “I’m going to prepare myself physically, train well, and get back into the rhythm of things so that I am ready when the coaches decide that I can play.”
