Debo Adebayo, a well-known Nigerian social activist and comedian better known by his stage name Mr. Macaroni, has warned Nigerians to be aware of politicians who promise money in exchange for votes.

On Tuesday, Mr. Macaroni sent a warning on his verified Twitter account.

He asserts that candidates that give money in exchange for votes are merely making investments rather than helping Nigerians.

He added that the people had a rightful claim on the nation’s treasury.

Any politician who promises you money in exchange for your support won’t do you any good, he wrote. Only investing is being done. If elected, they will plunder the nation’s coffers, which are rightly the people’s.

“Avoid electing liars and thieves!

They are destroying forces.
