Pioli, manager of AC Milan, is demanding more from Chukwueze

Even though AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli was pleased with Samuel Chukwueze’s performance in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League home match against Newcastle United, he has asked for more from the winger.

The Rooseneri gave Chukwueze his first start after he signed with them this summer from LaLiga club Villarreal.

After 61 minutes, the 24-year-old was taken off for Christian Pulisic because he wasn’t making an effect.

The AC Milan forward has only made five total appearances, but he has yet to score a goal or record an assist for Nigeria.

Pioli shared his thoughts on Chukwueze’s show.

Samu is used to making lots of cuts inside the pitch, so I want him to be as free as possible. I brought on Pulisic at halftime because Newcastle had been struggling to score and I wanted to try and find a fullback for another pass. Pioli told the press on Friday, “But we’re satisfied with his performance.

On Saturday, AC Milan will play host to Hellas Verona in a Serie A matchup.
