After suffering a new physical setback in training, Juventus coach Max Allegri has confirmed that midfielder Paul Pogba will return to the club in three months.
Allegri disclosed that Pogba, who has recovered from knee surgery, pulled up short in training yesterday, ahead of Juventus’ Coppa Italia quarter-final match against Lazio on Thursday night.
“When the players have been back for a long time, I think of Chiesa out for ten months or Paul [Pogba] out for six months, they are battling because they have to restart a car that has been stopped for a long time,” he remarked.
“During the week, Pogba put in a strong training. Then he felt pain: the engine needs to settle down, which takes time, like it did with Chiesa.”
“Perhaps in 2-3 months, he’ll be in optimal shape,” he added.
Pogba, 29, left Manchester United in the summer of 2022 for Juventus.
