The Nigerian Police Force has issued an advisory against the use of fireworks and other forms of public disturbance, particularly during Jigawa State’s Christmas celebrations.
This was announced by the commissioner of police, Emmanuel Ekot Effiom, in a press release.
He urged parents and guardians to warn their children off of any behavior that would disturb the peace.
He declared that the leadership would not hesitate to reprimand any miscreant who attempted to utilize the occasion to stir up disturbance or otherwise disturb the calm.
The commissioner urged the public to be security vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the local police or other security organizations so that it may be dealt with right away.
In addition, he claimed, the command had mandated a significant officer and soldier deployment in churchyards and other public spaces.
The CP, however, commended Jigawa State’s Christian community and the nation as a whole for their Christmas celebrations while urged them to imitate Christ’s virtues.
