Political violence in Cross River will be avoided by meeting with community leaders, according to police

In order to prevent any violence during the election, Cross River State’s Commissioner of Police, Sule Balarabe, has stated that he intends to meet with leaders of all political parties in every ward in the state.

In an interview, he stated that the meeting would provide him the chance to speak with them about preventing violence among their fans and members prior to or during the general elections, which will begin on February 25, 2023.

In order to ensure peaceful elections, we want to meet with ward leaders so they may talk to their followers and members at the grassroots about the need to refrain from violence and respect the other candidates.

I want to speak with the ward-level leaders of every political party, starting with Ogoja in the state’s northern senatorial district.

He claimed that the conference could assist in preventing potential political violence and thuggery.

He claimed that because the people of the state are generally calm, he anticipates that the general election would take place in a very peaceful environment.

To guarantee the general election is held smoothly, the commissioner stated that all police officers in the state, including those holding elected positions, will be assigned to election duty.

“I am pleased that the newest class of employees has just left the state’s Police Training School in the Odukpani LGA.

The election will involve the entire group of people allocated to the state.
