Jamie Carragher, a former England international, has named three players—Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool, Phil Foden of Manchester City, and Declan Rice of Arsenal—as his top three picks for PFA Player of the Year.
According to DAILY POST, the PFA awards ceremony is scheduled for this summer.
Out of all the players in the Premier League, only one will be named Player of the Year.
Erling Haaland of Manchester City won it last year after an impressive start for Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Nonetheless, Haaland is not one of the favorites to win the award this season, according to Carragher.
On Friday, the former defender tweeted on his X account that, depending on whose club wins the Premier League this term, the coveted award will be won by either Van Dijk, Foden, or Rice.
The three title challengers have had the finest players in Phil Foden, Declan Rice, and Virgil Van Dijk, according to Carragher’s writing.
“Whoever wins the title for their team will likely win the PFA POTY award for himself!”
