Due to a potential response from fans, Paris Saint-Germain has chosen not to allow Lionel Messi to display the World Cup trophy he won last month.

On Wednesday, PSG plays Angers in Ligue 1 at Parc des Princes.

Messi will play in his first match since Argentina defeated France in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

Le Parisien says that the 35-year-old will not be permitted to display the trophy on the club’s property, as is frequently the practice for repeat champions.

This is despite worries that PSG supporters may boo and whistle.

Because of Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper for Albicelestetreatment ,’s of Kylian Mbappe prior to and beyond the championship, Messi may face jeers from French supporters.

When Martinez carried a baby doll with Mbappe’s face attached during Argentina’s homecoming parade in Buenos Aires, Messi was nearby.
