Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, has admitted that Erik ten Hag benched him against Wolves because he arrived late for a team meeting.
Rashford made this statement following Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday.
The England international was unexpectedly chosen as a replacement for United’s trip to Wolves, according to the kuryaloaded, until Ten Hag stated before kickoff that the player was on the bench due to a “internal disciplinary” issue.
The 25-year-old Rashford came on at halftime and managed to score the game’s lone goal against Wolves in the second half.
Rashford told BT Sport on the development after the fight, “Obviously, it’s the team rules and it is a mistake that may happen.
“Obviously, I’m disappointed that I won’t be playing right away, but I respect the choice. In the end, I’m glad we were still able to prevail.
“I believe we can put it behind us and move on.”
I was a little bit late for a meeting, Rashford said when asked why he was specifically omitted. I slept in too late; it happens.
