Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, said the club would experiment with a new structure on their next trip of the United States.
Before the upcoming season, Ancelotti hopes to incorporate new players like Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham joined the rest of Madrid’s summer acquisitions including forward Joselu, midfielders Arda Guler and Brahim Dáz, and defender Fran Garcá.
Several players have recently left the Bernabeu, including Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Dáz.
In response to a question about whether or not he might switch systems, Ancelotti said, “When I started coaching I had a clear idea, and I didn’t adapt to the players I had,” at a news conference on Friday.
At Parma, [Roberto] Baggio insisted on playing the playmaker role, but I refused to alter our formation for him. He defected to the opposition. And I was completely wrong.
Although Ancelotti has always used a 4-3-3 system at Madrid, the acquisition of Bellingham has sparked rumors that he may switch to a midfield diamond.
